Name-calling?

An exchange of words between my almost 4-yr old daughter and 6-yr old nephew:

Babycake:
You're a chicken.
Nephew: You're a duck.
Babycake: You're a boy.
Nephew: You're a girl.
Babycake: Yes.

hahaha!! I don't know if they were name-calling at first or what, but I thought their "conversation" turned out quite funny!
They're so innocent!

Surrender

One day you will wake up
with all the traces of your youth GONE.
How will life react to a surrendering body
and forgotten memories?
Will kisses still be as sweet?
and will romantic whispers still send
shivers down the spine?
Will there still be words to say
or will words be useless?

Will love become a memory?

Smiles

Last Saturday, we went walking at Griffith park with my husband L and our babycake.  Babycake was running and yelling and laughing.  She was like our trainer because she would command us to run after her. haha! When she got tired, she asked her Daddy to pick her up.  Then we took her to her second pony ride. She kept stroking the pony and kept waving at us with a big smile on her face.

I don't know what it is, but this parenting thing is so rewarding in so many levels even if it's just seeing your child smiling at you.  There's this sense of accomplishment because you made her smile and you made her feel loved and taken care of.

I plan on doing this the rest of my life.

Environmentally-friendly Girl

Last week, my 3-year old daughter and I were out walking when she saw a candy on the ground. I told her not to pick it up because it was dirty and she said, "Yung mga tao hindi paka-pulot yung trash nila! Candy, plastic!" ("People don't pick up their trash! Candies! Plastic bags!") She complained that she sees trash everywhere and that people should pick up their trash. Moments later, she blurted out, "I'm mad!" and I asked her why, and she said "Because people don't pick up their trash!"

I am hoping that she'll grow up mindful of the environment.

Gabi.

Hatinggabi.
Naghihintay.
Hindi gumagalaw.

Mas matindi ang luha kaysa sa ulan.
